Bachelor of Science in Nursing

RN to Bachelor of Science in Nursing

The RN to BSN program is designed to develop the professional knowledge and skills of working registered nurses. The curriculum is built upon a foundation of biological, physical, and social sciences which contribute to the science of nursing. The liberal arts components promote the development of the intellectual, social, and cultural aspects of the professional nurse.

The nursing program enhances the foundation in the biological, physical, and social sciences through an instructional program with behavioral objectives that concentrate on the development of the nurse's role as caregiver, teacher, and manager of care. Utilizing a self-care framework, working registered nurses are prepared as generalists who are able to apply professional skills and knowledge to nursing, clients, and health care systems.

Master of Science in Nursing

This NLNAC-accredited Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program is designed for baccalaureate prepared registered nurses. It provides students with advanced nursing knowledge through theory and research.

Admission requires you to have a valid current U.S. RN license and demonstrate three years full-time RN work experience. You must also hold a BSN degree or baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Additional requirements must be met prior to official admission. RNs with a bachelor's degree in an area other than nursing have the opportunity to earn a MSN degree through our RN to MSN Bridge Program. With this program, RNs can complete three courses at the BSN level and then move directly into the Master of Science in Nursing curriculum.

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing and the Master of Science in Nursing Programs are accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.

Certificate: Nursing Health Care Ed.

This certificate is designed for health care and nursing professionals interested in pursuing careers in educational or service settings. Current educators can expand their knowledge in curriculum development, assessment and evaluation, and teaching strategies. Combining this program with your current professional expertise will enhance your role as a health care educator. Content can be applied to patient teaching, continuing education or in-service education, community health education, as well as to the role and delivery of academic education.

The certificate program is open to post baccalaureate students, and these graduate credits will also apply toward the completion of a graduate degree in Nursing and Education. Coursework will provide a foundation of knowledge for the novice educator, as well as having the flexibility of providing current faculty with new applications and practical skills.
